Recovering from the Economic Consequences of COVID-19
Jeremy Lau and Ted Ong are instructors in the CSUF certification program for the Trustee track of the Fiduciary Management Certificate. For years, they have taught Managing Investment Portfolio to the students in the Fiduciary field. In the current environment, Jeremy and Ted offer their expert insights into the impact of COVID-19 on the broader economy with respect to employment, consumption behavior, general growth, and monetary stimulus and how these various factors are affecting financial markets. They will also explore what a recovery might look like – based on nationally proposed phases, state implementation, and publicly available information related to medical treatments and vaccines and how to manage financial portfolios amidst this historic pandemic.

Ted Ong is a managing partner of Prudent Investors. He specializes in retirement, fiduciary and estate planning. He is a nationally recognized expert on the Uniform Prudent Investor Act and has been an investment professional since 1983. He teaches the Management of the Investment Portfolio class offered in CSU Fullerton Certificate in Fiduciary Management program, Trustee track. He has also taught numerous fiduciary investment classes. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford and an MBA from Brigham Young University.

Jeremy L. Lau serves as President and Chief Investment Officer of Prudent Investors. He specializes in managing assets for public and private fiduciaries and individual households. He teaches the Management of the Investment Portfolio class offered in CSU Fullerton Certificate in Fiduciary Management program, Trustee track. He also frequently speaks on fiduciary investing to attorneys and fiduciaries across various associations. Before joining Prudent Investors, he worked as an Executive Director in investment banking in Asia for some of the world’s largest securities firms in structured credit and convertible bonds. He graduated in Accounting (with Honors distinction) from Brigham Young University and has the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
